Looking to Hook Up a Turntable to Some Speakers?
I recently pulled a working Yamaha TT-400 turntable out of the attic, and I'm looking to hook it up to some speakers. I have a number of computer speakers lying around which I could use, among other things. How do I hook it up?
A record player can be connected to speakers. A turntable needs to go through an amplifier. This means connecting it to a stereo receiver or A/V receiver.
Your turntable should have 1) a power cord 2) a ground wire 3) two RCA cords.
The ground wire connects to a spot on the stereo receiver to reduce humm from the electrical components.
The two RCA cords serve as outputs on the turntable and connect to the inputs of the stereo receiver marked phono.
If the unit has lost the RCA cords, they are inexpensive and available at any electronic store.
The speakers would then also connect to the stereo receiver.
This looks like a good quality turntable. Replacement needles are available online from Yamaha. Here is a free user's manual you can print out for detailed info:

The software Traktor by Native Instruments is widely accepted as the best DJ software around. It is a good alternative for beginner DJs who don't have the money for purchasing new equipment. The advantage of using Traktor and other DJ software is that it plays on most computers. Get The Best Dj Equipment On The Market
There are a lot of things to consider in getting the best DJ equipment in the market; you have to think about your turntable, CD player, and mixer to start.
