Yamaha Phazer $81.25 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Phazer is the name of a model of snowmobile produced by the Yamaha Motor Corporation. Introduced in 1984, it became an immensely popular model for Yamaha and spawned several followup models (such as the Phazer II, Phazer Deluxe, Phazer Mountain Lite, Phazer FX, and Phazer GT); its design features were also incorporated into other models (such as latermodel Exciters as well as the Venture Lite). Of particular note on the Phazer is way in which the headlight is directly connected to the handlebars so that the headlight follows the direction of a turn. This feature was certainly new among Yamaha models when it was introduced in 1984, and Yamaha claims that it and other features began a new era in snowmobiling. The Phazer was always known for its sharp handling, freerevving 485cc fancooled engine, solid reliability (most notably on Phazer II), light weight, and most importantly, value. It was not so well known for its ride quality, however, as with many Yamahas of the day. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F. Yamaha Dt $60.54 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Yamaha DT is a series of mopeds and motorcycles produced by the Yamaha Motor Corporation. Models in the DT series feature an engine displacement of 50 to 400 cc (3.1 to 24 cu in). The first DT model, the DT1, was released in 1968 and quickly sold through its initial 12,000 production run. The DT series was created by Yamaha in the late 1960s when the United States motorcycle market was down. Market research by Yamaha indicated that, despite slow motorcycle sales, there was a largely untapped market for offroad motorcycles. At the time, only a few specialty European manufacturers such as Bultaco and Husqvarna made motorcycles specifically for offroad use. Instead, many owners purchased road motorcycles and modified them for offroad use, typically by raising the muffler. Such modifications were commonly known as creating scramblers. The first DT model, the DT1, was released in late 1967 and quickly sold out. The DT series, and the DT1 in particular, have been credited with inventing the trail bike category of motorcycle. Yamaha Rgx $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Yamaha RGX Series electric guitars are manufactured by the Yamaha Corporation and bear a close resemblance to the Ibanez RG series, the Jackson Soloist and other superstrat enhanced copies of the Fender Stratocaster. These Taiwanmade instruments were introduced in 1987. RGX Series guitars often have 24 or more frets and a bolton neck. Some highend models use a neckthroughbody design. Yamaha Xs750 $60.54 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Yamaha XS 750 and Yamaha XS 850 was a line of motorcycles produced by the Yamaha Motor Corporation from 1976 to 1981 for the worldwide motorcycle market. Released in Japan in 1976 as the GX750 sporting wire wheels (as opposed to cast alloy in all other models) the XS750 became the name for the export model. These bikes are usually referred to as Triples because they have 3 cylinders. The first 4 model years the bike displaced 750cc. This was increased to 850cc for the final 2 model years. Yamaha Xtz 750 $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Yamaha XTZ 750 SuperTenere (Tenere) is a dualsport motorcycle, produced by Yamaha. It was named after Yamahas lighter, singlecylinder models which in turn were named after the notorious Tenere desert stage of the former ParisDakar Rally in northeastern Niger. The XTZ 750 is a larger, twincylinder version of the singlecylinder Yamaha XTZ 660 Tenere. The XTZ 660 and XTZ 750 superseded the smaller, aircooled Yamaha XT 600Z Tenere. First sold in 1989, the SuperTenere used the new Yamaha engine design containing 5valve heads. A solid protective guard around the engine prevents damage. The front brake disks of the XTZ are provided with plastic covers. For normal road use these covers are beneficial, but they can make cooling of the brake disks more difficult when riding downhill. Yamaha Royal Star Venture $60.54 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Yamaha Royal Star Venture is a luxury touring motorcycle built by the Yamaha Motor Company. It was introduced in 1999 and was manufactured, largely unchanged, through the 2010 model year. Though Yamaha revived the Venture name which they used on the 19831993 Venture Royale models, the Royal Star Venture shares little with its predecessor except for the time proven liquid cooled V4 shaft drive power package. It departs from the earlier sport touring styling in favor of a classically styled touring look. There are two basic models: standard and S. The standard model has brushed front forks while the S model has chrome front forks. The two models also have different color paint. Each year the standard model color has changed. During some model years the S model has retained the same color, though always different from the standard model. This is most noted in the Midnight version of the S model which featured Raven (black with silver metallic) paint. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F. Can anyone recommend a quality universal remote control ?
I have been doing some research and have pretty much settled on something by Logitech. Beyond that, I have discovered that the two models that fall within my price range are the Harmony 520 and 550. Can anyone tell me which of these is the better choice ?
I have an older JVC tv, a newer Sony home theatre system, a dual Yamaha tape deck, a Sony boom box, a Magnavox DVD/VCR player, and a Rogers digital cable box. I don't have a cd player yet but that will coming soon, I hope. The Sony theatre system came with a pretty decent universal remote but the problem is that it doesn't have designated buttons for the designated buttons on the cable remote (colour-coated menu buttons).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you can suggest something cheaper but just as reliable, I would be even more appreciative.
Thanks a lot !
EXCELLENT QUESTION!
A lot of my clients have been asking me to replace the Harmony remotes they bought on their own (before they knew about me or my services) "with something that works better."
I recommend the Universal Remote Control (that's the actual brand name) MX-350 (or higher). They don't require a computer to program in most cases (unlike the Harmony in every case), they're built better and are more flexible in the way they can be programmed.
No, they DON'T have Harmony's sort of cool "Help" button, but they have custom macro capabilities that outshine the Harmony.
Check out reviews of both on remotecentral-dot-com.
Disclaimer: I do not work for either company.
Good luck, and let me know how it goes!
P.S. The Harmony is more expensive and some say harder to program corrrectly.
