West Germany
Was there a wall between the West Germany and East Germany like the Berlin wall ?
Why did people try to cross the Berlin wall into West Berlin, wasn't it easier to walk across the borders between East and West Germany instead?
The Wall extended all along the Border. The Elbe River was another, natural Border.
Eventually, Hungary let people from East-Germany cross into Austria and the Wall was obsolete.

When the cold war ended and East and West Germany became one how did they dissolve?
It seems to me East Germany officials would want to retain their authority. Spiritually asking that is?
Wouldn't a historical answer be more useful than a spiritual one?
East Germany was effectively bankrupt. Russia had withdrawn it's support, and due to some misunderstanding, half the population of east Berlin had pushed past the guards at the wall looking for a better life. The country simply collapsed and the East Germans didn't have much choice. West Germany just kind of absorbed it. I'm sure it was more complicated than that in it's intricate details, but that's the answers-length version of events at any rate.
