How to get my turntable to work on my computer?

I just got a Sony PS-LX300 USB turntable and I was hoping to listen to it through the speakers on my computer. The turntable comes with a usb plug and two (red and white) rca audio jacks, but the usb only works to record records into mp3 format. What can I do to listen to records through the speakers on my computer? Do I need some kind of audio adapter? If so, what kind? If there's nothing I can do, are there any cheap speakers out there that I can just plug the turntable into without any sort of amplifier (the turntable has a built in pre- amp, whatever that means)? You have 2 choices... You can buy an adapter to plug the analog outputs from your turntable straight to your computer speakers and listen in analog. This would sound the best if you have separate computer speakers that plug into your computer.

Or... You can use the USB connection and recording software that gives you the option to monitor (listen to) the turntable while the software is running. Audacity is free and gives you the option to monitor in the preferences. I have some simpler to use software that allows monitoring I'd be glad to put up on the web for you.
