Twin Needle
Can you use a twin needle in the Janome 1017?
I have read some information on this machine, but can't tell whether you can use a twin needle in this machine. Please help.
As long as the needle can pass through the presser foot and opening in the needle plate, you can use a twin needle.
Use a straight stitch. You can use a narrow zig-zag only if the needles clear the presser foot and needle plate.
If you do not have two spools of thread in the color you want to use, make a second bobbin to take the place of the second spool.
You can place the auxiliary bobbin and thread spool on the same spool pin if necessary, although separate spool pins would be better.
You will need to loosen the tension a bit. Test the stitching on like fabric. Be sure it is layered to simulate what you will be stitching.
I believe the expression is "Voilà" when the mission has be successfully accomplished.

Setting up your sewing machine to use a twin needle
i have 17 US 12.75mm-73.5cm circular knitting needle. I want to manke a twin sized blanket?
how many stitches do i cast on?
Your needles are huge, but how long are they? You probably will have to make your blanket in strips. Check this site to get an idea of the gauge:

BEFORE you start your project, you need to make a swatch to see just what your knitting is like, then you’ll know the stitch count. The chart gives 6 to 11 stitches = 4 inches, so cast-on at least 33 stitches (there’s no row chart) and keep knitting until you can easily measure four inches without stretching anything. Count how many stitches YOU used to make the 4 inches, and that will give you your cast-on.
