Turntables Stanton T80
Loud, low hum sound coming through speakers when using turntable.?
I have a low hum coming through my speakers when I run my turntable. I have it connected to a Sony mini-shelf system through a phono preamp. I am using a Stanton T80 turntable. I've been told this is a grounding problem. Can anyone help me out here?
My turntable has a grounding wire that is attached to a screw in the back of receiver, is yours like that?

You need to have a wire connecting the chassis of your turntable to the ground screw on your preamp. That should take care of it.
