A turntable of mass 4.88 kg has a radius of 0.08 m and spins with a frequency of 0.545 rev/s. What is its angular momentum? Assume the turntable is a uniform disk.

angular momentum= Iw, where I is the moment of inertia of the turntable and w is the angular velocity. "I" for a uniform disk rotating about its center is .5MR^2. In this case,
I=.5(4.88)(.08^2)= .015616.
"w" must be measured in rad/s so we have to convert
.545 rev/s to rad/s. 1 rev=2π, so, .545 rev/s * 2π rad/rev
=3.424 rad/s.
So, angular momentum = Iw = (.015616)(3.424)=
.0535 kg*m^2/s
