Turntable Preamp Can I hook up a turntable to an all in one modern stereo system through a aux cable?
If I wanted to hook up a turntable to a modern all in one stereo system, can I do it through an auxiliary cable? Also, if I could, would I need a preamp?
Yes you can but you will need a preamp unless there is one built in to your turntable. The audio signal coming from the turntable has to be processed before it will give you decent sound. You can hook it up without a preamp and see what it sounds like but I'm sure you'll be unhappy with the sound.
