Turntable Phono Adapter
How do I connect Phono output to speaker wire?
Ok so I have a turntable with a phono output, white and red (male).
I want to connect it to regular old speaker wire, and I have two speakers that need to be connected.
How can this be done? What sort of adapter do I need?
Sorry. It wouldn't work. Your phono output puts out miliamps of power that need to be amplified. The "RCA" plugs from your turntable go to either a *pre-amp or right into some stereos that have "phono" inputs.
Don't mess with the wires from your turntable or all you may hear in the future is a humm.
*Unless your turntable already has a pre-amp built in, in which case it may need to be switched "on" and then you may plug into AUX or Tape in or CD in. Hope this helps!
