Learning decks?
hi,
i have been offered a brand new numark dj battle pack compromising of: 2 x TT1625 multi-directional direct drive turntables
1x DM950 2 channel mixer
1 x HF125 flexible 7-position dual headphone
2 x Groove Tool™ cartridges and slipmats
heres my questions: is this a good deal for £230? i am a complete newbie to this except seeing my mate do it once, is it hard to learn, master etc? what is the easiest type of music to start off with, i am into more techno stuff like tiesto... and is there any books/guides etc to learn from?
thanks
jack
also forgot to ask is this a good starter package? and does anyone know of any good sites etc where i could learn from?
Well, it's a good pack for entry to mid level. As you expand in your skills, you would upgrade, but that's later on.
As for the skills, it's mostly what you learn from watching others. No one will show your their secret technique. In case you really want to learn some basics, look it up on YouTube or just Google it.

Newbie $12.99 One of ThinkGeek's favorite newbies is a little fella named Jack. Jack likes to say 'la la la' quite frequently (at only 2 months of age). We, as geeks, fully understand that Jack (aka, newbie) is attempting to create a new programming language based on the repitition of natural language. Jack rocks. And we also know that many of you out there have little geekoids (newbies) that are also coming into their own discoveries about life, the Universe and the Restaurant at the end of that Universe. They already know about 42 - it's your job to never let them forget about it. And please oh please don't ever let your kids *not* read Tolkien, The Chronicles Of Narnia, or The Foundation Series - unless of course you intend to breed orcs. Oh, and teach them binary. Yeah. Little white creeper with a computer sketch and the phrase 'newbie' written on it. As cute as geek can be, which, according to most sources, is *extremely*. |

newbie DJ kit advice?
hi, I'm new to the DJ things and I wanna ask something about DJ gear:
1. should I buy starter kit package or buy the mixer, CDJ, turntables etc individually?
2. If I should buy parts individually, which brand that gives the best bet on price and quality? (I don't prefer too much on quality honestly...)
thanks!
