Turntable Electric Motors

how can you tell if an electric motor is fried?
i have small turntable that i received from my neighbor but it wont spin the record. upon closer inspection where one of the wires connects to a circuit board attached to the motor, has a little bit of brown/black burned mark. if i turn it manually, i can feel it push a little but for only about 1/8th of a turn. and if left on for a while it will just get hot. thank you in advance
A loose or bad connection at the wire can cause the wire to get hot. solution re-solder the wire.
Try That first before canning it.
Take it to repair shop if its worth it

Electric Motors and Drives (Paperback) $71.57 Electric Motors and Drives is intended for non-specialist users of electric motors and drives, filling the gap between maths- and theory-based academic textbooks and the more prosaic `handbooks`, which provide useful detail but little opportunity for the development of real insight and understanding. The book explores all of the widely-used modern types of motor and drive, including conventional and brushless D.C., induction motors and servo drives, providing readers with the knowledge to select the right technology for a given job.The third edition includes additional diagrams and worked examples throughout. New topics include digital interfacing and control of drives, direct torque control of induction motors and current-fed operation in DC drives. The material on brushless servomotors has also been expanded.Austin Hughes` approach, using a minimum of maths, has established Electric Motors and Drives as a leading guide for electrical engineers and mechanical engineers, and the key to a complex subject for a wider readership, including technicians, managers and students.* Acquire knowledge of and understanding of the capabilities and limitations of motors and drives without struggling through unnecessary maths and theory* Updated material on the latest and most widely-used modern motors and drives, including brushless servomotors* New edition includes additional diagrams and worked examples throughout |

Theatrical Mechanized Turntable (18' Electric Driven)
Waste Food Disposer
Keeping the house clean is the biggest housekeeping challenge. As a result garbage is produced regularly in all the houses. It is kitchen which creates largest amount of garbage. The waste produced by kitchen is the food waste. Food waste is comprised of vegetable and fruit peel, rotten fruits, vegetables and other food items, left over food and more. If not cleaned and not handled in proper manner, it can be perfect breeding ground for various kinds of germs and bacteria. This is surely harmful for the health of the entire family. To dispose off the kitchen waste, waste food disposer is an excellent device. Waste food disposer shreds the food waste into tiny pieces which goes down the drain without clogging it.
Types of Waste Food Disposer
There are two types of waste food disposers; Continuous feed and batch feed. You can choose one according to your choice, convenience, availability and budget.
Continuous Feed Waste Disposers
Continuous feed waste food disposer is a very convenient type of device. You can turn it on and off using an electrical switch, placed on the wall. When the disposer is running it is important to keep the water running. Also, never touch your hands or utensils to the disposer any time, even when it is not running. You can also install air switch which you can handle with wet hands also.
Batch Feed Waste Food Disposers
This type of disposers are not commonly available and are expensive than continuous feed disposers. These disposers can be started by placing a sink stopper at its opening.
Almost all the waste food disposers use same type of technology. However, different models have different features and different power levels. A waste food disposer is installed between trap and drain installed under the sink. It can be easily installed and serviced.
Washed down the drain, food waste falls directly into the disposer. A high torque electric motor is present at the base of the disposer. The motor is insulated to avoid water contact and is also designed for quiet operation. There is turntable inside the disposer where waste food gets accumulated. A shredder ring surrounds the turntable to shred the waste. Shredder ring has sharp perforated walls. The turntable spins with high centrifugal force to let the waste pieces out of the shredder ring. Running water washes away the shredded pieces of waste food into the plumbing for safe passage.
A waste food disposer is very useful equipment for homes because generally waste food clogs the drains or it thrown otherwise into trash. It is a convenient and less smelly way to deal with waste food.
