Turntable Complete But
Computer issue regarding transfering from LP to CD?
We have successfully burned about 20 LP's to CD before the program fell apart- but there was not enough RAM and the CPU borrowed virtual memory. We are using a regular turntable, plugged into the blue line-in input of the soundcard. Now, there is enough RAM, the program has been re-installed, and still crashes- it was able to complete bits and pieces of a 20 minute side, each piece of about 1 minute or so, and clearly.
I just went back to see if I could do one song at a time, just to see, and the speakers gave a weird effect with OR without trying to record-
The vocals were thin and ghostly, echoing.
It seemed, on hearing the little I could from the LP itself with no amp, that the record is fine- it is the same one that came through so clearly the last time...
Is it possible that the program is not crashing anymore, but there is another problem?
T, you have a good point. The thing is, the RAM is upped, and the hard drive is 65% clear... Thank you for answering!
Is it possible that you are out of hard drive space or low on hard drive space? If you are recording the LP in wav format I would image they are going to be a few hundred megs. If your hard drive is getting full it could be chewing into the virtual memory and causing your program to crash.
