Do I need a van to be a mobile Dj?
Trying to price out my set up. Are there any mobile Dj's or anybody that knows about the game out there that can tell me if I'll need a Van to transport equipment around. I just have a car now. I use Turntables and Serato. Probably go with 1 amp and 2 spkrs (haven't got it yet). Do I need subs? No crates so I figure I can jam it all in a car. Can you veterans help me out?
I know nothing about mobile DJ's, I'm just assuming, I'm just a mixtape DJ (home-based). Think about it. You should not have to spend your time worrying about enuff space. You need a van, maybe an SUV will do but you're risky if you plan on traveling your equipment by automobile.
If you can afford to, get a cheap $500 van and use that for your mobile DJ use. Maybe not right away but if your business expands, you ain't gonna just roll with the same stuff, or are you? What if a speaker blows, do you have a spare one? A turntable arm breaks, do you have a spare one on demand?
