Turntable Arm Lift
When I try play a record, my turntable lifts the playing arm and puts it back in the cradle?
IT IS A PRETTY NEW RECORD PLAYER, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE I HAVE TO PRESS THE PLAY BUTTON A THOUSAND TIMES BEFORE THE ARM STAYS DOWN AND PLAYS THE RECORD.
Try looking at the back of the arm, near the pivot point. In some of the older turntables there was a tracking adjuster knob or screw. It would allow you to adjust how far the arm would travel before lifting up and returning to the cradle.

Does anyone know how to keep the arm on a turntable from automatically returning to the arm rest?
Every time I try to play a record, whether I use the start button or try to start it manually, the arm lifts up and returns to the rest and will not play. Is there a way to fix this or disengage the automatic part of it?
normally there's some sort of weight adjustment on the
arm that you can tweak to adjust the balance -- beyond
that i don't know
