TtUsb Turntable Usb What type of needle do I need for my record player?
A while ago I bought a Numark TTUSB Turntable with USB from a friend. He said he didn't have a needle or counter weight for it. This is my first time owning a record player and I pretty much got it for less than nothing, but I am completely new to own any record player and I am completely lost on what it is that I need. So I'm just asking what type of needles and other accesories I might need.
You'll have to get the counterweight straight from Numark or from a Numark parts distributor. You should be able to find a number to call for parts on the Numark web site. I found this on the USA site, not sure if you're in the USA...

If the table still has the original cartridge, you need a replacement stylus for the Numark Groove Tool cartridge. Just Google "Groove tool stylus" or "Numark TTUSB stylus" and you should find a place to buy one. eBay might be a good place to get a good price. The same stylus also fits some ION tables and you could also search for it by it's ION part number "stylus ST-09D".
That table has a removable headshell that can use any standard 1/2" mount cartridge. If you won't be doing any "DJing or "scratching", a better sounding, lighter tracking hi-fi cartridge may suit you better for just listening to records. You could replace the whole cartridge instead of just the stylus. The elliptical "Red Ed" for $30.00 or the Audio Technica AT95E for $45.00 would be good choices on a budget and sound nicer than the original. If you're missing the headshell with lead wires, that could be replaced with any standard headshell for S-shaped tonerams.
