Amplifier won't power up PLEASE HELP?
Yesterday I hooked up my amp and subs and I have a factory stereo so I converted the output to RCA and I looked at the back of the stereo and didn't find a remote line input but then I looked at a wiring diagram and I saw a open slot and I tried to buy a stereo hookup kit to get the metal terminal and put in the slot for the remote wire and I turned on my system and it didn't come on. So with a tester i tested the Power and ground and they were getting power and I tested the Remote and ground and it was getting nothing so I'm pretty sure that it is the remote wire so is there any way to hook up the remote wire safely PLEASE HELP I NEED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BY TONIGHT ThAnKs FoR aNy HeLp
You can wire the the remote from the ACC in the ignition and then through another switch* to the REM on the amp. The reason is for full control and you never have to worry about forgetting to turn of the amp.
Full control because you don't want to give grandma a heart attack when she's in your ride. *You can turn off the amp when needed.

MTX Thunder 7000 Subs And Thunder 2300X Amp...Need HELP?
Ok so I bought a used 91' Toyota Corolla.
+ Clarion Reciever
+ 4 MTX Thunder 7000 12" Subwoofers (I believe they are the 4ohm version)
+ MTX Thunder 2300X 750W 2 Channel.
The subs are running bridged in stereo. Apparently the amp is blown or something to that tune. It gets power when it is NOT grounded, but when you ground it to the car it loses power. I tried grounding it to a building and it did not lose power, but the subs still did not work. I then attempted to test the rca cables by hooking a home stereo up and when I went inside to bring the stereo outside the amp had lost power completely and would not come back on. All the fuses and wires are good. I even bought a new amp wiring kit and tried it with all new wires and still nothing.
My question is do you think this is a fixable problem, if so what should I do?
Or...what amp should I buy to replace this one and I am on a budget as I need the car registered and insured still lol?
Sorry, but the first answer is wrong. You cannot bridge a 2 channel amp to 2ohms.
If the subs are in fact single 4ohm apiece, they were wired correctly to begin with -2 wired in parallel to each channel, loading the amp to 2ohms stereo which is the lowest (most it can take) it can go.
It sounds like the amp is gone. You'll need to get it fixed or get another 2 channel that puts out about 800watts RMS x 2 @ 2ohms, or a mono amp that puts out about 1600watts RMS x 1 @ 1ohm. Either will be pricey, so you could sell 2 of the subs and get a 2ch that puts out about 400watts RMS x 2 @ 4ohms (same as 2ch listed for all 4 subs) or a mono amp that puts out about 800watts RMS x 1 @ 2ohms.
