Stone Garden Features
Natural beautiful stone garden features make for a fantastic focal point in any garden environment. Available in a wide array of shapes, sizes and styles, from Planters and Troughs to Standing Stones, Bird baths and Spheres, the only limits are your imagination. Whether you are looking for a feature for your patio, a piece to enhance the overall look of your garden or work with a pond or fountain, there is a beautiful <ahref="http://www.stonecreation.co.uk/stone-furniture-ornaments-and-features">Stone Garden Feature</a> to suit every requirement.
Natural Stone and reconstituted Planters, Troughs and Jardinières are the ideal way to beautifully display your plants within a hard landscaped area. These products vary in design from the elegant and classical to minimalist and contemporary. With such a large range to choose from it is important to consider how your planters will work with the rest of your exterior design. Some reconstituted materials will be more cost effective than Natural Stone although this will vary depending on the material, design and the amount workmanship put into the manufacturing of the item.
Other forms of stone features include -
- Plinths and Pedestals are manufactured predominantly from Sandstone materials. They make a fantastic stand alone feature and can also be adapted for gate posts. Plinths are often used as bases for <a href="http://www.stonecreation.co.uk">Planters</a>, Jardinières and other free standing, ornamental <ahref="http://www.stonecreation.co.uk/stone-furniture-ornaments-and-features">Stone Garden Features</a>.
- Spheres - Hand worked stone circles are normally available in two materials. Sandstone in the colors Teak, Rainbow, Chocolate and Mint. Granite Spheres are normally available in Silver/Grey, Rose and Green. It is also possible to have Stone Spheres drilled through the middle of the sphere for use as a water feature.
- Natural Stone birdbaths are an elegant way to enhance the look of your garden and make an excellent focal point. Normally available in a varied range of styles and materials including Granite, Sandstone and Limestone.
- Monoliths are free standing rough, natural pieces. These are hammered from quarry walls and then sawn at the base to achieve a free standing piece. Slate is a very popular material for Monoliths, normally quarried in North Wales and available in Plum, Blue and Green. This are often drilled horizontally for water features as Slate looks very attractive when wet. Monoliths are also available in Limestone, Sandstone and Granite.
- Millwheels are a traditional stone feature and it is possible to obtain both new Millwheels produced for use as a feature and reclaimed Millwheels, now obsolete for there original purpose of grinding wheat. Reclaimed Millwheels are unique pieces which have added traditional character due to there age and weathering of the Stone.
All of these beautiful stone garden featuresvary in cost between £100 and £1000 depending on material and manufacturing costs. The most and expensive and exclusive of Stone Features include Sandstone Rotundas and Well-heads, these grandiose features start at around £5000 +.
