why do we make machines to do our work for us, and then complain about the lack of jobs?
i was just watching the history channel, and they were talking about how self checkout lines can replace other checkout lines. but i keep hearing about our lack of jobs for americans as well, so i believe it is ironic that we keep going towards machines doing our work for us, but then we complain about not having enough jobs for our growing population.
what do you think?
At my job, they just put in a line of robots to eliminate about 10 or 15 jobs, with only about a week of warning. I agree, it's really sucky. Hopefully the economy will work itself out, though...if we're all unemployed, we can't buy the products the machines are making, so obviously there has to be a balance somewhere.
