Xbox 360 controller with any headset?
What exactly keeps me from using other headsets that are not specifically labeled "For use with the Xbox 360"? I have audiophile cans but they have no mics and they sound better thru a Dolby Headphone v2 receiver than a 5.1 headset, i.e., Tritton AXpro, Astro A40. So I'm wondering if maybe I can attach a mic to one of my headphones or even maybe a PC headset like the Creative Labs Fatal1ty since they are way cheaper than 5.1 headsets. PC headsets terminate in dual 3.5mm jacks. I assume one for sound, one for mic. The Xbox 360 controller has a 2.5mm mic input so is it really that simple to just get a 3.5mm>2.5mm adapter and any clip-on mic or PC headset will function correctly?
as long as they fit in the hole, it will work. I use my cell phone headphones and hands free for a 2nd player headset, and it works.
