Stand Shipping Does anyone know where I can buy a ham stand, other than online?
The shipping to order online costs more than the stand itself, so I was hoping I could find one in a store, but have been unable to do so. Williams Sonoma didn't have one the last time I was in there store, and I've also checked the kitchen stores in our outlet mall. Has anyone seen one in a store? I live in Florida.
Dennis- My son just happens to work in an upscale grocery store that sells hot meals along with the baked goods. I never thought to ask him. I saw the ham stand on the Cook's ham commercial.

How does the ship stand without crushing in the breaking yards, out of water?
In dry docks the ship is settled on blocks that support the keel, and the ship's internal support structure (frames, bulkheads, etc) are more than strong enough to support it in or out of the water. In most breaker yards the ship is dismantled while floating in the water, starting with the superstructure in order to keep the center of gravity low, but some are dismantled in dry dock. In water, once enough of the ship has been dismantled the remainder is removed from the water to prevent it from sinking. In flat shoreline breaker yards such as Alang Breakers on the northwest shore of the Gulf of Cambay in India or Gadani Beach in Pakistan, the ships are hauled up at high tide as high on the shore as they can get them and then dismantled right there. (As a result, Alang & Gadani are two of the most polluted places on Earth.)
