Do the major record labels still sign unknown artists?
I'm in a band and we are pretty awesome. Is it possible to get a record contract with a major label without having to tour incessantly for a very long time? What's the fastest way to a major contract, as a band, and as a singer/songwriter?

They sign tons of unknown artists. Yeah Yeah Yeahs got signed to Interscope off of pure buzz from their crazy live shows.
If you DO get signed to a major label, make sure it's not the one that offers the most money, but the one that offers the most creative freedom.
