Sequenced Power Controller
IC controller for LED circuit design?
I have a circuit design problem. I want to fade in & out a blue LED and then a yellow LED, and then a red in a repeating sequence. The blue LED is 3.6 volts, the yellow 2.25 Volts, and red 2.2 Volts. I will be using a breadboard and have variable power source of 0-30V DC. The LED's are rated 20 ma. So far I think I can use the IC 555 but I can't find enough information on how to calculate the circuit. If you know how or know a link please let me know. If there is another simpler chip I could use that would be better? There is now a multi-color LED with a built-in IC chip in the base of the bulb only 1mm thick that does the same thing.(www.brite-led.com) I also have a LED display case that has a tiny controller that does the same thing and its not the 555 chip. There are no visible resisters or capacitors it's a small 3/16" dot. Any answers where to buy that tiny controller or if that fails how to design the with the 555 IC chip?
LED's are current operated devices. If you supply the proper current to them, the voltage is not important. Because the LED's are current devices, they won't dim well by varying the voltage. You will need to design a pulse width modulated controller to make them dim correctly. The site below will give you some information on PWM circuits.

Hard Disk chaos!!!?
I am using a WD 160GB 7200rpm EIDE hard drive..
its only 6 months old
few days back it started developing some issues.. the hard disk failed to work as slave on primary or secondary IDE controllers (i use a Seagate 40GB 5400rpm drive as PRI MASTER). Removing the jumpers of both solved that issue.
The hard disk then failed to load at bios sequence repeatedly.
Last night it generated clicking sounds (ones u hear when hard drive is powered up) and then failed to load. If it loaded at bios it would freeze in WIN XP. More recently two of the partitions are giving 'partition not formatted error'.
Whats going on....!! What should i do!!

You have 2 or more options here.
Goto the WD site and look for the warrenty page and enter your drive serial number. If it's still under warrenty, either call them or send them an email stating that you suspect that your HDD is going bad and need the data off of it. They should advice you to either send it in to get checked, or send you to thier site for some software to run on it.
This drive (as most WD drives) should have at least a 3 yr warrenty on it. So check that out and see what you can get going there.
Also, if it IS under warrenty, and you DO send it in, and if WD FINDS it to be bad, they should ship you a NEW drive equal or greater size.
Also, it sounds like your SMART maybe going out and therfor causing the partition erros as well as booting.
Also check and make SURE, that drive is jumpered correctly, you might be trying to force it into something that that drive might not know what to do or how to do. RECHECK jumpers settings ON BOTH drives.
