Do I need a converter box for my new hdtv?

I have a Vizio 22 inch LCD HDTV and I need to know if I need a converter box, the initial channel scan provided only 20 channels from my comcast service

Nope your Vizio LCD HDTV already has a digital tuner inside the television. You will not need a converter box. However you will need a good indoor or outdoor antenna to get your local channels for free without any cable services.

However if you have comcast cable services and paying a monthly fee for your channels, they are the ones that will provide you with your local channels with your package. They will even have HD (high definition) channels as well. You will probably need to contact them and inquire about that.
