S Arm Turntable
Angular Momentum Questions.?
Ok guys , help would be appreciated , I have already answered this questions as part of my homework however i want to double-check.
1)If you walk along the top of a fence, why does holding out your arms help you balance?
2)You sit in the middle of a large, freely rotating turntable at an amusement park.
If you crawl towards the outer rim, does the rotational speed increase, decrease, or remain the same?
3)Witch will have greater acceleration rolling downhill: a large or small ball ?
4)Distinguishing between linear momentum and angular momentum.
5)What motion does the torque produced by earth's gravity impart to a vertically spinning bicycle wheel supported at only one end of this axle ?
Since this thing is due tomorrow an answer would really help

1) You INCREASE your moment of inertia and therefore it is more difficult for the torques to cause you to rotate off the fence
2) By crawling out for increase the moment of inertia and since angular momentum is conserved the rotational speed DECREASES
3) Same if they have the same mass
4) linear momentum == m*v and angular momentum = m*v*r
5) Precession
