Replacement Stylus
Is there anything besides a nintendo ds lite stylus that will work?
Just bought a used ds lite with one stylus but I can see that my son will likely lose it since it is not attached by cord or anything...any ideas other than buying replacement ds stylus?
If it still has the wrist-strap, that has a sort of replacement stylus on it - a hard bead that you can tighten around your fingertip and just use your finger. Additionally, they sell 3-packs of replacement styluses specifically designed for the DS at most games stores for just a dollar.
You might be surprised, too. My son has broken one of the joints on his and dented it up a bit otherwise (it still plays, miraculously), but he never has lost the stylus in such a way that I couldn't find it in a minute or two. And if you're in a pinch, you can always use your fingernail, though I don't think they recommend it.
Probably just about any stylus will work at least marginally well. I've noticed that PDA styluses tend to be a lot harder and pointier, so perhaps they run a slightly higher risk of scratching. Of course, even a bit of scratching isn't fatal because (if I'm not mistaken) there's a built-in plastic cover on the touch screen which can be removed and replaced, though those parts I haven't seen around so much.
Still, at 3 for a buck, it seems to me there isn't much reason not to have the official products. But that's me. Hope that helps!
