Record Stylus Needle
Why does my needle on my record move so easily?
I am a beginner DJ, and recently bought a new stylus for my deck arm. But for gods sake, how can I mix when if I were to gently put my hand on the record, it BOUNCES?! Why is this happening? Is it the stylus?
Really irritating it'll skip by like a CM across the record if I were to move my hand on it as slow as I can, RIDICULOUS!
Please help.
Most good turntables have a counterbalance on the back end of the stylus arm. You should be able to adjust it.
If you have to you can tape a nickel or a quarter on it, like we used to do with the cheap phonographs that did not have an adjustable counterbalance.
