Record Player Ground

Can someone help with an intermediate algebra question?
I. One of the most exciting plays in basketball is the dunk shot. The amount of time T that passes from the moment a player leaves the ground, goes up, makes the shot, and arrives back on the ground is called the hang time. A function relating
an athlete's vertical leap V, in inches, to hang time T, in seconds, is given by:
V(T) = 48T^2 (the carat symbolizes that the 48T is squared; the 2 is an exponent)
QUESTION: The record for the greatest vertical leap in the NBA is held by Darryl Griffith of the Utah Jazz. It was 48 in.
What was Darryl Griffith's hang time? (V is the vertical leap)
I suppose it starts as:
48T^2 = 48 .....right?
and then T^2 = 1 ...right?
but then how do I get rid of the exponent?
I would really appreciate some help.
You have T^2 = 1
Take the square root of both sides
Sqrt(T^2) = sqrt(1)
sqrt (T^2) = T
sqrt(1) = either a plus or a minus 1
you must throw away the minus 1, because it makes no sense to have a negative time. So you keep the plus 1 or simply 1 second.
Hope the explaination helps,
good luck

"Tumbling Tumbleweeds" on old 78rpm record player
do u think that sachin has anything to prove that he is the best player in cricket?
i think that he is too old to play cricket.
sachin has not proved against the team like australia etc.
india shout in stadium sachin..............but it doesnt matter .they think that he is the best player in this generatoin.so many told me that see his records .what it matters is that every body shd have self confidence.no doubt he may be great .what it matter is performing at the ground.people get pist of when he does not perform and they say that stop doing ads.these indian dogs dont understand even though he perform or not he will get the money.
u r insulting indians by using the term dogs u r not supposed to hurt people.
ok let me come to the point his recent form is good enough to retain his place in the team. u shouldnt judge a player's caliber by his age but his form in the recent form
in his last nine innings he has hit 383 runs at an average of 47.87 better than his career avg of 44.14
and the ads are not interfering in the way he plays so why shouldnt he act in ads
he has taken wickets at the average of 25.66 which is good
so isnt he good enough for a place in the team
i am not a blind follower of cricket so according to the stats he deserves a spot in the team
