completely weird studio recording interference question?
ok, so this morning i am messing around recording music. I am all set up to record a track from my yamaha em-100 amp/6 channel mixer into my computer sound card. i have the built in reverb on just slightly and i start hearing AM radio through the line. sports talk 980. It goes away when i turn off the reverb. i mess with it a bit more and find that it goes away when the reverb is below 2 or above 8. there is no am/fm tuner on the amp, there is nothing plugged into it for input other than a microphone. the outlet is grounded and there is a power strip. no radios are on in the house and even if they were they wouldnt be on that channel.
anyone have any idea where this interference would be coming from?
lift the ground, use as many balanced ins, outs & cables as possible in your signal chain. If the YamEM-100 reverb has a spring tank (analog style) check those connections. Music & sports or sports & music...it could be worse.
