my portable dvd player's charge outlet isn't working, how do i fix it?
i used to be able to overcome this problem by tilting the cord in the outlet a certain direction, but now it just won;t work. i want to fix it because i don't want to pay some "professional" to fix a possibly simple problem? you guys got any advice?
Those things are flimsy and delicate. You can try to fix it at home, but any plastic parts that held the plug in place are most likely the cause of the loose parts. It's possible they have broken. Or the soldering has literally broken off. Give it a try and use this as an educational experience. The amount of money you would pay a pro anyway would likely add up to what a new player would cost. I would suggest you hunt down a half decent used one on eBay. I have a portable Sony that I bought 2 yrs ago & it's going strong. I drive it all over the place in my semi & it has been through some rough times. Just a suggestion.
