Pro Phono I have a Beheringer UB1222FX-PRO Mixer. How do I connect a cd player to the unit.?
I am new to this and dont understand the mixer fully.I connected the cd player to the stereo phono jack imputs on the unit but I found that I had to turn it up nearly to the last to get any sort of volume I also foun I had no control over the effects .What am I doing wrong. Also the main out leads to the amp are balanced XLR connectors witha nominal level of +4 DBU are these leads the same as the mic leads.
Hello Vinnyk2003,
You have to have a shielded wire that connects to the headphones and connect this onto the mixer using 1/4" male plugs (L+R) in each mixer chosen track. Set the volume to about 60% on the cd player and control the gain input on the mixer, get the track level to about 0db.
This should be OK.

Read reviews and compare prices: Cambridge Audio Azur 640C
One thing is absolutely certain : for the money this Cambridge Audio Azur 640C is one hell of a player, and if you want something better you will have to pay much much more . Build quality ( at least from feel and weight ) is fantastic. The player's remote is excellent for the price and operationally the player is ideal. Cambridge Audio Azur 640C appears more than able of holding its own against other amplifiers in this arena and could possibly show amps costing ?100 more a thing or two about the subtleties of musical entertainment. Strengths of Cambridge Audio Azur 640C:Terribly refined and smooth sound, Natural Tone, Great radio control, Midrange.
The details the Cambridge Audio Azur 640C prefers to increase are also rather masking others that it likes less. But , I should be fair at that point. All these pros are truly only found in players costing at least numerous times more than that one. And I was judging Cambridge Audio Azur 640C in a context with an amplifier costing more that 3 times what the Cambridge Audio costs, and speakers that are far more than 7 times more expensive. Usually it essentially did very good, indeed holding its own in these hard circumstances, sounding very convincing nearly all of the time and rather good some of the time. I was prepared to hear Cambridge Audio Azur 640C for hours without a bit fatigue or funny feeling and it all my test tracks without showing major problems.
The explanation why I went into so much detail explaining Cambridge Audio Azur 640C's capacities is to permit you to get a clear image of its innovative concept, and also because I would like to take this device seriously. This Cambridge Audio Azur 640C player is setting new standards in its price range and be considered without taking its nice price into account. In the concluding analysis of Cambridge Audio Azur 640C my key issues are with the small roughness that's due to that fast, deep and greatly focused treble and the much slower bass and with a little of treble coarseness and grain. Though the result was fully open and engaging it didn't inspire high-level or extended listening and you'd be better off sticking with speakers offering less complex loads.
The Main pros of Cambridge Audio Azur 640C are its , its fast and lively mids and treble and its capability to reproduce complicated and dense recordings without falling apart. With heavy jazz renderings Cambridge Audio Azur 640C gives lots of instrumental energy in a steady and engaging condcut. Only over a long lasting period does challenging music start to attack the Azur's sense of equilibrium by beginning to sound a little hard. Ambient dance grooves exhibit its inspiring bass kick and capacity to trace energy increase rather effectively, the sound pulling you in and engaging your attention. I attempted playing some vinyl even tho thru one of the aux inputs as my sample didn't come with a phono stage. I also gave the amp a spin on a tougher pair of speakers, the fantastic ATC SCM35s simply to discover how far its 70 watts could go.
After a burn-in of approximately 150 hours Cambridge Audio Azur 640C makes a really smooth and laid back sound. It doesn't have being excessively bright. Good CDs will sound better than ever which is an acceptable goal. for now I would say the classical music in my collection seemed to bring the best results in show with Cambridge Audio Azur 640C. Crummy low budget jazz stuff still suffers. Popular music like Lyle Lovett sounds surprisingly good.
The final analysis of Cambridge Audio Azur 640C is that this player, great as it is with its really refined and smooth sound, great Natural Tone, superb radio control and Midrange, still has a personality and color of its own, enough to softly mingle with the full atmosphere of any recording. The Cambridge Audio Azur 640C V.2 is a rather good player for the price . Detail is being forced on you a bit, rather than just being there for you to enjoy.
