What equipment is good for a beginner DJ?
I want to do scratching/remixing and also Club DJing. I want to buy equipment which is good for a beginner but is also good quality. What would you recommend? How much do you usually have to spend? I want to buy CD turntables not Vinyl Turntables, simply because its cheaper to buy CD'S & theyre more portable. What equipment would you recommend to start out? Or if you are a DJ and want to help me out... could you leave your email address? THANKS.
well depending on how much you want to spend your looking about 1200+ for decent stuff, but i recommend getting some pioneer cdj 200's, there suffice for a beginner (about 350ish) and for a mixer you just need something basic, for now check out any numark or pioneer mixers. I personally don't think cds are any better you loose that feeling of controlling the vinyl and vinyl's arent that expensive about the same price for a cd that you would buy at best buy THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE HOBBY unless you know for certain that this is want you want to do, maybe even more than a hobby i recommend basic stuff to get the feel of it, and remember new is fun but buying used is also a cost effective way to get the same thing
