What are some safety tips for a Portable Electric Heater?
I am at college,and my room has no heating vent. So I bought a small little osculating portable heater. My dad kept saying they were dangerous. So what are some safety tips I should take with this? Also, what kind of surface would it be safe to set this thing on?
I hope the brand you bought is a ceramic heater with the oscillating , digital temp & timing features (they have them in Lowe's for about $35.00...they are superb and shut down instantly when knocked over - and instantly cool down. You can set it to come on at a particular temp and shut off when it reaches another.
Your dad is right about the danger portion - all appliances have a danger quotent.....plus he knows his adult child and people in general - heed his advice and all will go well.
