Player Universal Needle
Are turntable cartridges universal?
I was wondering if when I need to replace my record player's needle, if I can buy any cartridge and it work okay or if i need to find the exact model.. it came with an order form for a replacement should I need one, but it's a cheapie needle and was wanting to replace it with something more expensive. Model is JTA-220
No, they are not universal, but that does not mean you need an exact replacement in most cases. There are magnetic, and ceramic types of cartridges, and the needles for each type are different. Didn't see any information concerning the stylus and needle on the sites I looked at. I wouldn't put much money into this particular player, with no tracking weight adjustment, and no anti-skate adjustment, your options will be limited.

Is it worth it to my a Record Player that needed a replacement needle?
Are they pretty much universal? (One size fits most kinda thing) Are they cheap? Easy to find?
Well, obviously it would be worth it if you have a good collection of albums.
It would be according to your player what type of needle you would use.
Some have cartridges, some just have a needle to replace.
You need to be more specific about what you have. Do an edit and maybe we can help you more.
I love my player because I have some really good old albums I like to listen to.
