Player Radio Turntable What are those tall old stereos called that have a turntable & 8track player wit speakers underneath?
My parents had one, the radio & 8 track player were up above the turntable, which sat on top of the speakers. The speakers also had lights in it lmao
Did that type of setup have a name?
thx, i dont' think it was a rack tho, im pretty sure it came as one piece
usualy those kinds of stereo systems are cheap department store junk.they didnt realy have a name per say, they were just a low-end system for a casual listener.these were popular during the 1970's and 1980's.you mentioned an 8 track tape player, then that would indicate a system from the early to mid 1970's.if this system was in a large wood, usualy particle board, cabinet, then this would be clasified as a console stereo system.of course,it dosent matter how cheap or junky a stereo system is,just as long as you enjoy it,thats all that matters.
