P Mount Turntable Cartridge

Where can i find a replacement headshell for a Yamaha P-520 turntable?

I just recently bought a used Yamaha P-520 direct drive turntable. I'm having alot of trouble finding any useful information on it. I need to get a headshell and cartridge for it because it didn't have either when i bought it. The best i can com up with is that its a P-mount type.

If anyone knows where i can get a P-mount headshell it would be much appreciated.

It looks like it came with a headshell for standard 1/2" mount cartridges AND a headshell for P-mount cartridges. The original owner actually managed to lose BOTH.

These are not any sort of standard headshells. They're proprietary Yamaha headshells.

It's possible Yamaha may still have the parts to sell you. I've bought some pretty old parts from manufacturers, but they don't always still have them. This is the number to call for Yamaha parts...

Otherwise... I would try entering "Yamaha P-520" or "Yamaha headshell" in the eBay search often and hope to eventually find a headshell or non-working parts table cheap. If you buy a cheap parts table, you could ask the seller to just send you the headshell or headshells to save shipping.

Good luck! Hope you get that old Yamaha spinning like new!
