Do sugar cravings increase risk of miscarriage?
I had a miscarriage in Novemeber due to an undiagnosed hypothyroid. This was my first pregnancy. My thyroid count is now in the upper range of normal. I am now almost 6 weeks pregnant, with HCG levels looking very good (actually more than doubling every two days). I don't want to do ANYTHING that could put my baby at risk. I have had a lot of cravings for sugar this week. Could this increase my chances of miscarriage? I am still eating healthy foods like fiber cereal, cottage cheese, nuts, and fruits, but I have also had alot of cookies, ice cream, and fudge. About 12 ounces of diet soda in the morning (I kicked my coffee habit and am down to about 40 milligrams of caffeine a day). I am taking prenatal vitamins, Omega 3 capsule, Caltrate, acidolphilus, and bee pollen.
I am 26 years old and at a normal weight for my height and also exercise on an elliptical for 80 minutes daily.
Please let me know any info or experience you might have.
