Nipper Dog

1/4 pomeranian pup 3/4 pug pup info?

He will be 9 weeks old when we get him, is there any special things i should be aware of with either breed involved? my firend says since he has alot of pug in him, i will ned to vaseline his nose a few times daily and wipe out his muzzle wrinkles, is this true? and then some one else tolf me he is prolly going to be really fuzzy, but his mom is 100% pug, dad is pom 50% pug 50% mix. he looks like he is goign to be short haired to me. would a harness be better than a collar for the puppy? any other special things that i will need to watch for. i was even told since eh has wrinkles and is black tha ti will need to rub sunscreen on him this summer when we go for walks. never owned a dog from wither breed so not shure if they are nippers or what not. just curous. and what health problems are apparent. he is from a pug and bird rescue.

Please don't use vaseline on his nose. We used baby oil on our Pug's nose because we thought it would keep it clean. After a trip to the vet, we learned to keep the folds clean and dry. The vet gave us Tresaderm because his folds started to do something weird and Malaseb towelettes to clean the folds ... amazing how much dog food can get in the fold. We also ended up with Epi-Otic ear cleaner ... and eventually Malaseb dog shampoo. We dry their nose folds at least once a day with Kleenex tissues.

We started out with collars for our Pugs and went to harnesses ... the harnesses seem to be easier on our Pugs.

They love squeaker toys and treats and things to chew on. They're just the best little dogs ... you're going to have such fun. They are so fun to be around. Bred to be lap dogs, they are definitely true to their nature. They love to play play play and are natural born comedians. They know no stranger and are great with children. They are happiest with a house full of people and love to entertain. They live for your attention and are very affectionate and lovable. They love to go anywhere and everywhere … doesn’t matter where – whether it’s to the post office and back or to another city. They love to go on walks whether it’s all over the neighborhood or down to the corner and back. They love to greet everyone and are happy to see anyone. People always get a great big smile when they see our Pugs and can’t help but pet them. They shed like it’s going out of style but we love them to death and wouldn’t change a thing. We couldn’t imagine starting a day without them!!!

Our Pugs shed a lot and we haven't found a brush that really helps, so we've invested in lint rollers, swiffers, a Dyson vacuum ...

Watch around their nose folds, clip their nails at least once every other week, brush often, watch their skin for anything unusual ... watch their eyes and ears -

Oh, and another scary thing is a reverse sneeze. Both of our Pugs do that and I have no idea why ... it seems to be more common than I thought.
