Music System Speakers
I want to connect my Electric Guitar to my Hi Fi Music System?
In which point of Music System shall I put the lead of Guitar,so that its sound is heard in the speakers of Music System. Shall I connect it in MIC point , Aux in , Phones point. Please suggest if you have an idea
You should only connect through the aux in input.The mic in is a high impedance signal input that can cause internal overload to your amp if connected.
Also,if you are using pedals or other effects watch the output volume of each so they are set to medium.
Now although it sounds like a great idea to connect your guitar to your home stereo it isn't because you can run the risk of blowing your crossover network or even your power amp........so don't turn it up to loud! (I've learned by experience)

What speakers can I use with my mp3 player to completely replace a shelf music system?
Hi there!
I own a Philips MCM570 micro system (http://www.amazon.com/Philips-MCM570-5-CD-Shelf-System/dp/B00009YWKA) that I use for music listening in my bedroom.
I never listen to AM or FM radio, and it's been at least year since I last used my system to play a CD. I buy all my music on the internet now. The only way I use my system is connecting my mp3 player to it via the analog aux input.
I would really like to replace this system with a pair of speakers that would offer a similar quality, and that I can connect directly to my mp3 player(s) (Cowon D2 and Sansa Clip). I'd like to spend about USD 200 at most.
I know there are hundreds of models on Amazon and Cnet but I really don't know what kind of speakers I should look for. Can you please help me?
