Try to think of an old name for the vampire that way you have a vampire that has more debt like Erik Northman or Bill Compton because then you could draw up his past life, like did he have a love before he was turned, did he live the same life but in a different time.
I would read it as long as the first letter capitalizing problem ended because it drives me completely crazy, and that's probably my only negative. If you ever decide to publish this work you don't have to go through your story and have to fix it.
