Is the Numark Battle Pak a digital AND a vinyl setup?
Im thinking about buying the Numark Battle Pak to start my DJ'ing. At the moment i need something at a low price but can do the job. It is a direct drive turntable which i hear is much better than the belt drive. The thing is, I want to use my laptop because I have all my music and I want to hook it up to my turntables/mixer. Can you hook a laptop up to the Numark Battle Pak and play the music off that while using the Virtual DJ program? Also, do you think that the battle pak is good package to start with until i get money to buy something better?
You can buy this pack to learn on, but you will be looking to upgrade quick. Its hard to use these cheaper decks because they have a high "wow and flutter" (platter fluctuation). This means the records don't spin at consistent speeds - so its hard to beat match.
You are totally right about the direct drive though - NEVER BUY BELT!!!!
You can't backspin or cue records on a belt drive.
