Mike Line Phono
i have a spdif connector/header on my pc board so a plug goes onto that obviously, but where does that then go
my board says it has 7.1 capability, and it cant come from the 3 phono connections as it is only a stereo line-out/line in/mike - so i am assuming it comes from the spdif connector, it says it is optical or coaxial - so how do i get it to my amp which wants an optical connection - it seems there has to be something in the middle - something that takes the 3 wires and into some sort of plug connector
The best way to get the most out of your sound would be to use the optical connection (if available) at the back of the board. Obviously, that would then plug in to the back of your amp. As for the spdif connection, it's an RCA cable (male) which has just a single connection at both ends and can transfer data/sound through this. Hope that helps
