Media Player Controller
Help! No sound coming from my Media Players.?
I have Windows XP 2002 Media Center Edition and I frequently use Windows Media Player 10. I see the files play but there is no sound :Oh!
I tried Quicktime and Real Player to see if they had sound. Nope, same problem.
Sound is not muted. My speakers do work (the sound comes on when computer is turned on/off). Also, I did the speaker test in the Sound Manager for confirmation.
I checked the Device Manager under Sound, Video and Game Controllers. There were no errors.
I uninstalled, reinstalled Realtek High Definition Audio and restarted computer. This did not sovle my problem.
I looked at the other drivers under that same category (Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media Control Devices, MuvEnum Virtual Cable, and Video Codecs); I tried to update them with the wizard but it "could not find a better match for your hardware than the software you currently have installed".
What can I do? Can someone please help me get my sound back?
go to the little speaker icon on your taskbar double click it and check none of your mixer boxes are muted

Does This affect My windows media Player?
The Winhlp and Winhelp32 files in C: WINDOWS has a big Yellow Question Mark. Also, the Video Controller ( VGA Compatible) Has a Big yellow Question mark. Is this affecting my Windows Media Player because any time i open my windows media player, a pop up appears that says an internal application error has occured. if the video controller affects the WMPlayer, what can i do about it

Winhelp and Winhlp32 are two programs related to Windows Help they have nothing to do with Windows Media Player except that they maybe used by the help option under the Windows Media Player. The big yellow question marks are their icons. I can't say about Video Controller ( VGA Compatible) unless you give more info. (like where did you fnd it with the big yellow question mark etc). In any case try reinstalling Windows Media Player. That might fix the problem you are having.
Note: Winhelp.exe and Winhlp32.exe files has nothing to do with this, they are files related to Windows help.
