Could I handwash/machine wash this "dry clean only" shrug that is made of linen/cotton/spandex?
It's lightweight summer shrug, so it isn't lined or anything. Why would it need to be dry-cleaned? Can't you machine wash linen/cotton/spandex?
I have sensitive skin, and I can't wear it until I wash it or it will irritate my skin. I know about those things that you can put in the dryer with "dry clean only" clothes, but in this case I don't need to freshen the shrug--I need to get the chemical residue out of it.

Hand wash it in the sink with Woollite (or any handwashing detergent or your favorite body wash) in cold water. use only cold water, & hang or lay flat to dry. Heat will shrink it.
