Loud Antique
What color should I paint my desk and bench?
I just purchased a duvet cover w/ pillow covers. (From Ikea, you can look on their site, links below.) Duvet is a deep purple, one pillow cover is multi colored (which has a deep purple in it), and the other two are goldish yellow/deep pinkish. My current furniture is an antique pine stain. I'm looking to sand and paint a desk and bench I just bought, which are now both white. I would like something fun but not too loud, or at least something that would just match well with my current furniture and new bedding fabrics. Any suggestions?!!!

I would go with something in a copper undertones to compliment the antique pine and the shininess of the fabrics. Find hardware that coordinates with the other wooden furniture. Use copper lamps with silk shades and copper accents in the room.

You feel old and like you are turning into your parents when....add your own!?
-you turn down a party invitation to do laundry and watch the Antiques Roadshow marathon
-you go to a club and complain about: the loud music, the shameless dancing, your back and feet, short skirts, why you agreed to come
-you leave early to "beat the traffic"
-you spend a whole afternoon clipping coupons
-complain about the kids today

-you start making embarrasing jokes like your parents
-you actually don't mind and sometimes even like hanging out with your parents
-tell younger people "back in my day" stories
-talk about furniture and "today's issues" with your friends, and have fun
-you start getting the adult, obscure and older references in tv shows and cartoons
-make sure to eat your fruits and vegetables
-realize this at 20

When you start talking the same way they do (using the same sayings), and reproaching your siblings for the same things your parents reproach them for.
