Kenwood Turntable Kd-291r
What year would my Kenwood Automatic Turntable be?, and how much is it worth?
I have recently received a Kenwood Automatic Return Turntable (KD-291R) and I would like to know what the turntable is worth and what year it is. This would really help what I'm looking for. Please, help(: Thank you so much.
This turntable was from the late '90s. It's a pretty basic and inexpensive small, plastic automatic. Has a cheap cartridge / conical stylus and it's very similar to the automatics that sell for $100.00 today. Although, today's models tend to include a built-in phono preamp and possibly a USB output. It could probably use a new stylus (which are still available) and belt which would be an added expense for the buyer. So, unfortunately this table would not sell for much. Maybe $20.00 - $30.00 or so with a questionable stylus and belt. Maybe $60-$70.00 if it had a new belt, stylus, the cosmetic condition was decent with dustcover and the speed was tested to be accurate and adjusted if necessary. There are free strobe discs you can print out for testing speed accuracy here... Use the 60 Hz discs if you're in the USA.
