I have a blue ray dvd. don't know to buy BOSE system, or a Receiver with HDMI connection?
Blue ray uses HDMI for audio/video so I want to build a home theater. The Bose SYSTEM uses optical input only vs. I can buy an ONKYO Receiver which has HDMI input/output and then get just the BOSE speakers or other similar speakers.. Which would be the best way to approach this? of course since I invested in BLUE ray, I want to utilize the HDMI cable but would an optical line from the Bose system give you enough of the Same sound?? Any suggestion how to fully appreciate the sound without getting carried away with price.
Well it sounds like you actually have 2 questions here. HDMI passes digital audio, this audio will be the same if you use HDMI, coax, or optical, so you can hook it up any of those ways and get true digital sound.
Now as far a the BOSE system goes... in the home theater world they are a big joke. If you want a decent system go with just about anyone else but them. The best piece of advice I give everyone when picking out a sound system is first obviously look at what your willing to spend, then go to a store and bring your favorite cd that you know and love and listen to it on a few different systems and pick the one that sounds best to you. Everyone hears things differently and since you will be the main user you should be happy with how it sounds.
