Ground Cable Turntable
Home made ground cable (turntable)?
Hey so ive got some turntables they require a ground cable along with a phono cable to take away the ground noise.
I had a phono cable with a attached ground cable which just simply screwed into the back of my mixer from my turn table i had two of these phono + ground wire cables but ive lost one of them.
Now one turntable is clear since its got a ground and the other has loads and loads of noise.
Ive got a spare phono cable what i was thinking is if i cut off both of the connecter heads so the cable is exposed and used one side to connect to the ground on my turntable and one on my mixer
would that work as use as a ground cable to take away the noise?

As long as you have a conductor (wire) running from the turntable to the amp, that will work. I would even suggest a ground wire with an alligator clip on one end that you would clip onto a screw on the amplifier chassis.
