Chocolate cake, how to improve?
HI, I have followed the exact recipe of baking a chocolate cake, here it goes-
-Chocolate ready sponge cake mix 200gram(inclusive main ingred. like flour,cocoa powder, sugar, milk powder, baking powder)
-Egg > 4 nos
-water > 40 gram
-olive oil> 40 gram
I baked it to 180 c for 25-30mins, the cake turned out nice, but i just find it a little hard and dry, so i added another 10 gram of oil next time. came out better, but how can i improve on it and make it more spongy and lighter, like those displays in cake shop??
Your next step is to add lift (air) by beating 2 egg whites till stiff peaks appear, fold the egg whites into your prepared batter and bake as normal.
