Early music question - Under The Greenwood Tree...The Wedding of Robin Hood Music?
Hi,
This is probably I long shot, but it's worth a try.
I've got a cd called Under The Greenwood Tree, by Graham Derrick.
It's got 28 tracks. The track I'm going to refer to is track.10 - The Wedding Of Robin Hood. It's for voice, violin, recorder and lute.
My question in regards to this track is where would I be able to purchase the sheet music for this particular song. I've searched, and haven't had any luck. Does anyone know if the song has another name which is preventing me from finding it. It doesn't have a composer. It's one of those Old English anon pieces.
Well I figured given it was performed on the cd, that music must exist somewhere..
I'll give 10 points and a good rating to anyone who can answer this question. I really wanna have the music to play with a group.

I don't have the recording so I'm not able to verify this with 100% accuracy, but my research indicates it's probably Child Ballad 103 - Rose the Red and White Lily.

The original books are also archived on Google books. While these books don't have the melodies, they have been published separately as: Bronson, Bertrand Harris. The Traditional Tunes of the Child Ballads, with Their Texts, According to the Extant Records of Great Britain and North America, 4 volumes (Princeton and Berkeley: Princeton University and University of California Presses, 1959, ff.).
Amazon is out of it and doesn't know when it will be in stock. There is a copy of the book at the Smithsonian and I'm guessing a search on Worldcat will tell you where to get the book from Interlibrary Loan.
