Shure SM58 Microphones?
Is there any way to spot a fake SM58 visually? I have just bought one which I am not to sure about, for instance, do any genuine ones have the Shure SM58 legend on an adhesive plastic strip?
Tricky.
I have six SM58s and the logo running around the body seems to be printed on rather than stuck on.
When I unscrew the body there appear to be no other manufacturers markings - short of dismantling the thing completely.
Perhaps you can compare with another SM58 in a live situation? It will be very clear from the resulting settings on the mixer if they are electronically different and if not and it does the job to your satisfaction I would not worry too much.
